Dr. Erin Swofford is a 1990 graduate of Ava High School. In 2003, she graduated from Drury University with a Bachelors Degree. She taught second grade for 10 years and obtained her Master's Degree in Special Reading from Drury University in 2008. After teaching in the classroom, Mrs. Swofford was Process Coordinator for three years then Director of Special Education for four years for the Ava School District. In 2013 she received her Specialist Degree from Lindenwood University in Educational Administration and in August of 2021, she received her Doctorate in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University. 

Dr. Swofford came to the Gainesville School District in 2020-2021 as the Elementary Principal. 

Erin is married to Dan Swofford. Together they have six children and four grandsons.
