Hello, my name is Wes Johnson and this is my first year teaching.I am beyond excited about this opportunity. I will be teaching high school US History, life skills, a 7th grade elective called History's mysteries and supervising for an hour filling in for Coach West while he is on lunch duty in the computer lab.I also will be the assistant High School boys basketball coach. I have a life-long love of history. Just ask my wife and kids. I always squeeze in something historical related to our vacations, whether it be a day-long visit to Fort Sumter or a historical tour of where Blackbeard the pirate stayed in North Carolina. I am now excited that when they complain I can now say it is work-related. 

My wife Beth and I have been married for 9 years in September and together we have four wonderful kids, Tanner, 21,who is serving in the Marines, Emma, 15, who is a sophomore and is an amazing clarinet player in the Ava pride band, Tatum, 15, who is the athlete of the family, that literally kills it on the volleyball court for Ava and Hailey 11 who is becoming a amazing young person. We also have four great dogs, Farley, Bailey,Reeses and Puggles.

My main passion in life is my walk with God. My faith in him is the biggest reason I am who I am. I also volunteer as the children's pastor at Ava Assembly of God, where I have attended since 1991. The other hobbies I have are a love of sports and pop culture. I am an avid fan of the Cardinals, Chiefs, Celtics, and all things Mizzou. I also never miss a Marvel movie or TV show either. The family also loves being in the water. We are at the pool or lake most of the summer.

I am also so excited about this new chapter in my life. All my life I have bled Ava blue and Gold, but am excited to trade them in for some black and red.
